Twas the Weekend ’fore Christmas, the spirits were high,
As was the beer bill, to pay it I’d try ,
Our old faithful few plus the once a year crew ,
Would descend on the pub for their annual do.
Pub News
The Peal has reverted to a traditional pub since finishing with meals in September. Darts and pool are now the order of the day - with players being sought for local leagues and competitions. The restaurant makes a spacious pool room, with the darts board tucked away in the corner.
One activity we have already started is a quiz. Generally on a Thursday, once a month, there is a cash prize and a beer or wine prize for the winners, with quiz master Greg not setting too'intellectual a puzzle. Look out on the notice board for times and dates, and for "What’s Happening" at the pub.
On the food front, we can still organize buffets for any occasion – our restaurant is available with a bit of pushing and shoving of the pool table, and we can bring in inexpensive caterers to provide the food. We have already hosted a birthday party, and a retirement party, as well as a funeral. Let us take the pressure of a ‘do’ from you, there’s no washing up or hoovering for you to do!
